| Description | | | Often dismissed by everyone for his lazy, "not-going-to-bother" attitude, Nara Shikamaru is, in fact, a genin of no small skill and a pure genuis when it comes to strategy. He trains under Asuma alonside Yamanaka Ino and Akimichi Chouji, and in spite of his lack of charisma his calculating personality often makes him the team leader. His patent (and apparently only) skill is the Shadow Imitation - Kagemane no Jutsu, in which he projects his shadow at his opponents' and, if catching him, makes him imitate his movement. However, Shikamaru is able to freely alter the shape of his shadow and uses his skill with unmatched ingenuity. If fighting along his teammates, Shikamaru usually uses his skill to capture and disable the enemy team's leader or best fighter - or, if he needs to, their entire team. His fights with Kin Tsuchi and Temari show that he can do it even to very skillful opponents. |
